SUCCESS FORMULA
Mini workshop: FREE! Right here, right now What do you want to accomplish? It's your life. What's important to you? Have you made your list? Dream big, write it all down and then ask yourself, "If I could only do ONE of these things, which one would it be?" Now you know what's important to you, really important. So how do you accomplish what you want? Here are four elements--pieces of the puzzle--you need to get together: Attitude Do you have right thinking? Do you believe in yourself? Do you know you are worth it? Tools Do you have what you need--materially, physically? If you don't have what you need, make a list and get it together. If you want to go rock climbing, you'll need the right equipment. What do you need? Be sure that what you have on your list is truly necessary and don't waste your time getting tools that won't really serve you. What do you need to get those tools together? Skills Do you know how to do what you need to do? Want to be in a triathlon? You gotta know how to swim. If you don't know how to swim, then even with goggles and the best attitude in the world you can't get in the water. No one can know how to do it all, that's where learning from others comes in: read, take a class, practice. This is called growing! (It's a good thing.) Action Once you know what you want, believe you can accomplish it and have a strong desire, gather the tools you'll need, and learn the skills, you can take the steps to create your dreams. Break it down into small bite sized pieces. Create a time line or a new habit. Persistence Be relentless. Move forward (make sure your compass is pointing you in the right direction!). Take small steps. If you fall--that's OK! Get back up. Take another step forward. You CAN do this!

Remember that your website is not meant to be static. It's mean to be a place of vitality. Think about it as your online office where people come to see you. It should feel inviting to your market (not neglected and dusty). It should also feel fresh and new. A neglected website might make a visitor feel like you're not really into your business anymore.
So, regular, new blog posts or articles are an important element. For some more juice on this topic you can go to the Resources and have a look at some of the links or ideas there. Do a search and find an article online for more ideas or inspiration. Keep it fresh. Keep it current. There is always someone in the Level Up! group who is working on building a website or blog. Blog posts and articles are more interesting and eye catching if there are photos. My favorite source of photos is www.morguefile.com. When you go to the site you can search for the kind of image that would work for your article or post. It's a free download. TIP: Some blogs and website builders will let you put in a link to the photo you want (which MorgueFile will give you) but the kind folks at Weebly (which is who I'm using to host and build my sites) convinced me it's best to download the photo you want from there and then upload it to your website. It keeps your site safer and true to the images you want. TIP: When choosing a photo, don't trip yourself up and spend too much time searching. Trust your sense of the photos that will work and go for it. I'm grateful to have a resource that is free and the people I've met over the years by the very nature of the way the site is run have proven to be very kind. I've also uploaded some photos to "give back" to the project and keep the flow going. You'll find a broad spectrum of photos (like all of these!) to use whether you are looking for food, business, medical, or nature photos, you're likely to find something you can use. The price is right and they are available for immediate download!
"Sloppy success beats perfected mediocrity every time. I firmly believe this.
The men and women of the world who don’t mind being a little sloppy with their success in the beginning, while they are learning and adapting, those are the multi-millionaires — and you can be that way, as well." ~Alex Mandossian That means: Just start! Fail forward! Toss perfectionism! Start now! Transformation comes because you want something better. And, transformation is NOT comfortable most of the time. That's ok. The question is, are you willing to be uncomfortable while you grow into what's next? Are you willing to push past your own limiting beliefs? Are you willing to do the work to break through the shell? That may be a great metaphor because getting out of that shell is only the first step. Then you need to rest (collect yourself and evaluate your next steps) and move forward. Taking that step to get past your comfort zone still leaves a lot of adventure ahead and if you're on track with a dream or project or business that enlivens you, you've got a lot to look forward to as you develop yourself. What do you need to do right now that will move you forward one step? Are you willing to look scrawny as you start? Are you willing to "fail forward" into success? Are you clear about what you want in life right now? What is it that you need to bring into the world right now? Is there a dream? A message? Knowing clearly what you want to say YES to means that you can also gain the clarity of what to say NO to.
What is really important to you? Knowing the what is critical. Success master Brian Tracy teaches to make a list of all the things you'd like to do or accomplish. Then go through the list and ask yourself, "If I could only do one of the things on this list, what would that one thing be? Now go do it." The next step is knowing the WHY. Why do you want to accomplish this goal or build this dream? Answering the why will fuel you to move forward. So, what do you really want? How honest can you be about this? How much do you really want it? I once read in a book for writers that you know you have to write when it's more painful not to write, than to write. If you know what you want, if you're clear about that, there is not a better time than right now to take action. Be more committed to your dream than to your insecurity! Take some small action right NOW. Coming up with a dream, whether it's business or personal, is the easy part. Taking the right action in the right direction is what will get you to your goals and dreams. The first step, before anything else can happen, is that you have to show up for yourself with commitment. Sometimes fear or uncertainty get in the way. This is what I know. If you take the steps, even if they are the wrong steps and in the wrong direction, if you are showing up for yourself, you will get the clarity you need and want.
Only you know the truth about what you want for yourself, your family, or your community. Step one is to show up. Now, if you can, take a moment to get centered within yourself, be still, and ask yourself: What does showing up look like for me? You have your best answers inside. Listen, see, feel, imagine, envision. When you take the first step by showing up with a commitment, the sea might even just part! |
