LOCATING REPORTERS WRITING ON YOUR SUBJECT
By Dan Poynter
Here is the easiest way to get media coverage for your book and/or speaking. When the journalist, editor, or producer has already decided to cover
your particular subject and they’re actively seeking people just
like you to interview.
Reporters and other news writers often locate information sources through online services. By subscribing to these (free) listings, you can contribute to articles when they are being written.
Simply subscribe to the services below, read over the daily postings, and respond to the reporter or editor when you find a match with the subject matter of your book, speech, or expertise.
As an expert on your subject, you are a treasured resource who is quotable.

Dan Poynter responded to a HARO request on hotel taxes in New York. He relayed how shocked he was to find $53.00 in taxes, per night, added to his hotel bill after attending the 2010 BEA Book Fair. After the 2011 fair, The New York Times sent over a photographer and the result was a two-column story and a photo of him looking at his hotel bill in that prestigious paper.
b. Reporter Connection.
Steve Harrison will send you subjects that editors and journalists are researching for articles.
