"The best way to refine your craft is to create a huge volume of work. Not to create the most perfect piece you can, but to create many pieces of work." ~Ira Glass When I was a new mom and reading so much about parenting, I learned that quality time could really only come from quantity time. You have to be there for your kids and the amazing, life defining moments show up. It's the same with writing. You don't have to write well, you have to write a lot and the gold will shine through.
Keep writing!

“A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” ― Maya Angelou Writing is not easy, and apparently it's not meant to be. I don't know why we struggle to get our books out into the world. It's a vulnerable feeling to write and then show the world what's on the inside.
What if I didn't worry about anyone reading or liking my work? What if I just wrote because the writing of it is healing? So many well known writers have written about the agony of writing, and even more so the agony of not writing. What if I change the tape playing in my head and delete the inner critics of my past that ghost around? What if? What if I just wrote something, right now? Catch the wave and write, even it it's just for 10 minutes. GO! To make the right choices in life, you have to get in touch with your soul. To do this you need to experience solitude which most people are afraid of, because in the silence you hear the truth and know the solutions. The idea is to go inside to the still place. You might need to travel through the chatty places though. Because they are the places that are testing you to see if you have the patience to really listen to the song of the place where your deepest truths reside
